I'm putting out a recommendation for a wheat mill. If anyone else likes a different brand, please post it to the blog. My mom has used one of these mills for many years and I have owned one for about two years now. I love the convenience and ease of use. It's called the Wonder Mill and can easily be found on the internet by way of Google or contact the manufacturer by email: service@thewondermill.com . Phone: (208)234-9352. Address: Grote Molen, Inc. (The Big Windmill), 387 Yellostone Ave. , Pocatello, ID 83201. It is an investment item. Whatever kind of electric mill you may buy will be (approx. $239.95). It took me awhile to save up and buy one and in the meantime I still bought wheat (it keeps for more than 30 years and I figured I'd get a mill before then!). A few of the nice features of this mill are: all the mess is contained (no blower bags like my Grandma's), you can keep ground flour in the container by easily detaching it from the mill, and you can select how fine or coarse you want the flour to be milled, not to mention it is pretty quiet-comparatively. The owner's manual says, "Try milling several varieties, like whole wheat, rye, oat groats, abuckwheat, rice, millet, corn, soybeans, barley, or triticale." (I'm not sure what some of those are but it does mill wheat really well). My next goal is to buy a hand mill, in case the power is out for awhile.
