- leave jewelry and valuables at home

The Wet Pack Cannery has been closed for the month of June. Beginning in July they will be opening for Welfare Canning with the product of Green Beans. This will run until the first part of August. In order to get a timely schedule, send the Cannery a self addressed, stamped envelope and they will send you a schedule as soon as they are available.

In the past (no guarantee for what is offered this year) they have done: dark turkey chunks and white turkey chunks in October, pork chunks the first of November, spaghetti sauce in mid-November, and salsa from the end of November through mid-December. Products offered from the end of August through September can range from peaches to beef stew (dependent on what is available).

In the Spring, starting in March, they have offered (no guarantee) white turkey chunks, dark turkey chunks and chicken chunks (all white meat). These are all very popular, so think about calling to make an appointment during January or February

In April they have offered chili con carne, ground beef, pork and beans, beans and ham, white beans and black beans.

In May they have offered pinto beans, cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup.  All of these products come in a 14.4 oz. can (1.5 times the size of a standard Campbell's Soup can) so don't be misled by thinking they are more expensive. I have tried both the cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soups and they were very comparable to Campbell's.
